Before you sync one more identity field into Jira, do you know where that data lives?

Every identity-sync app pulls sensitive data out of your identity provider — job title, department, manager, sometimes more — and drops it into your Jira instance. Most teams install these apps for convenience and never ask the follow-up question a security review eventually asks: where does that data actually get hosted, and under which jurisdiction?

That question tends to surface at the worst possible time — mid-procurement, during a SOC2 renewal, or when legal flags a data-transfer concern for an EU-based workforce. By then, reconfiguring or ripping out an app that's already wired into your approval workflows costs a lot more than picking the right one upfront.

Mindpro Sync was built with that review in mind: it runs natively on Forge, so data residency isn't locked to a hardcoded shortlist of one or two countries — it follows whichever region your Atlassian org already runs on, across the full set of regions Atlassian's Forge platform supports (11+ and growing). Your workforce data doesn't have to leave the region just to populate a field in Jira.

And once it's synced, it's not just sitting there passing an audit — it's actually put to work where people already are: attributes and org hierarchy show up directly inside the Jira issue for your internal teams, and, if you choose to expose it, in the JSM customer portal too, so requesters and portal users see the right context without anyone digging through a directory. You control that visibility scope app-wide or per project — internal-only, or also visible on the portal, your call.

So it's one line in a security questionnaire that either passes cleanly or doesn't, and a piece of context your agents stop hunting for manually. This makes sure both are true, instead of you having to explain either after the fact.

If your team is already syncing identity data into Jira and nobody's confirmed where it's actually stored — or whether it's even showing up where your team needs it — that's worth five minutes before your next security review, not after.
