Hello everyone,
I'm still early in my journey, a student and an intern , and I wanted to share my honest experience with Agile as a newcomer, and hopefully learn from the experienced people in this group.
At work, we use Agile every day to organize our tasks, and I have to say, it has genuinely changed how I see work. Before, tasks felt scattered and it was easy to lose track of things. Now, having everything visible on a board, moving items across columns, and seeing progress clearly makes a real difference. I love how it brings structure without feeling heavy, and how it keeps the whole team aligned on what matters.
A few things I've come to appreciate as a beginner:
Seeing all tasks in one place, so nothing gets forgotten.
Breaking big work into smaller, manageable pieces.
The feeling of progress as tasks move toward done.
Staying in sync with the team on priorities.
But I know I'm only scratching the surface, and that's why I'm reaching out to you. You all have years of real experience, and I'd love to learn from it:
What's one Agile habit or practice that made the biggest difference for your team?
Are there common beginner mistakes I should avoid early on?
For someone learning, is there a part of Agile (standups, retrospectives, estimation, flow metrics) that you'd recommend I focus on understanding deeply first?
I'm genuinely eager to learn and grow in this field, and I'd be grateful for any advice, experiences, or lessons you're willing to share. Thank you all so much!
