Dates roll-up in our Jira plan broke this morning. I’m not really sure what caused it, but now I only see rolled-up dates for one Epic.
I’ve already checked the following without success:
Plan settings (hierarchy, scheduling, timeline options)
Issue sources and filters
View settings (including “Show rolled-up dates”)
Despite that, most Epics don’t display rolled-up dates anymore. They worked fine before today.
As you can see, roll-up only works for the first Epic.
Would appreciate any help troubleshooting this.
Hi @Alex Dokhtiar,
Very hard to draw any conclusions based on your screenshot. The obvious first question I would ask if there are really any dates set (not derived from sprint allocation, but really formally set) on any of the child work items of your other epics.
Hope this helps!
Hi Walter,
Thank you for the answer, let me provide another screenshot, hope it will bring a little more clarity.
The answer is no, I don't have start date and due date set on the tickets, they are taken from the sprints. This is how it was since the beginning of the project and roll-up for Epics worked perfectly fine until this morning.
I found an older screenshot taken a couple of weeks ago - you can see roll-up dates for Epics here.

I am also experiencing this exact issue, and it started around that same time.
I assume it is some sort of change (hopefully unintended) from an update to Jira, since they seem to just be rolled out on the cloud version with no notice these days.
Any assistance on this would be very much appreciated.

Just got off the call with Atlassian support — they couldn’t replicate the issue. The support agent logged into our instance and said he could see the bars. Also, there are no open incidents regarding this issue.
Hopefully, they’ll figure out a solution.

I'm also experiencing a similar issue today (Jira Cloud). Something very strange is happening...
In my situation, when I hover over the timeline of one of the Epics, the rollup on the others appears briefly... but they go away when I hover off.
If I explicitly set the target start / end date of one child story within an Epic... then the rollup for that Epic finally shows up on the timeline (the others do not, until at least 1 child has its start/end set explicitly)
What's even more strange, when I look at my settings for my data sources - the Work Items number is 0 for all data sources, even though there is data returned. One common thing about my data sources - They all use the portfolioChildIssuesOf() function.
@Alex Dokhtiar are you also using portfolioChildIssuesOf by chance?

Update: It works again! All things described above are currently working as expected. I didn't change anything, so something was fixed somewhere...
