I am new to JIRA and to the portfolio add on. I want import information form my Microsoft project plan into Jira project and then into Jira portfolio. Here are the list of questions I have and I really appreciate any input:
1. For portfolio to know the start and due date, I had to created a custom field for start date, is that the best practice?
2. I am unable to bring dates from the CSV file and I continuously get errors indication that Jira can not parse the time and I have tried changing the format in feels and look section but the problem persist, any idea?
3. Except summary, start date, due date and epic/story link, what are the only mandatory and important fields that need to be imported for portfolio to function properly? Because I created a simple structure and created a project plan in Portfolio but I have no visualization yet, any suggestion about the fields that I am missing?
