How can I set the default issue type for issues under an Epic ?

I have a Plan with multiple levels of Hierarchy, including Epic.

In the Plan view, if I click to right of an Epic ... and select Create Story it starts to create an issue that isn't "story" (we have some other issue types under Epic).

Is there a way to force the default child type of an Epic to be Story ?

If I change to Story type then create, it remembers that choice until I refresh the page, but then goes back to the previous default.

It isn't an alphabetical sorting of issue type names either.

Update : It isn't the Issue Type Scheme config either. Story is higher in priority in the Issue Type Scheme and is the default issue type, so Advanced Roadmaps is not honouring the Issue Type Scheme Config.

Update 2 : Seems this is a known bug : https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JSWCLOUD-23338
