AI-powered Systems of Work: A New Way of Working with Atlassian – A Recap by David Bui

Hello Atlassian folks!

I’d like to share a short recap of our January 15th webinar “AI-powered Systems of Work.” In this session, we talked about how to create a way of working where people and AI work together naturally, with AI built into teamwork, knowledge, and communication using the Atlassian Teamwork Collection.

We started from a simple, real situation:
many teams are trying AI tools, but only a few are turning them into clear and useful results in their daily work.

During the webinar, we covered three main parts:

  1. Keynote: A new way of working with AI
We discussed why AI often stays at the “hype” level and what can actually help:

    • Having one connected system of work instead of many separate tools

    • Letting people and AI agents work in the same place, with the same context

    • Focusing on real results, not just ideas or buzzwords

  2. Live demos with real workflows
We showed demos using real data and real workflows from:

    • Dev and IT teams

    • Non tech teams such as Marketing, Sales, and HR

We wanted to show how AI can help with everyday tasks: summarizing information, reducing manual work, and supporting decisions, not just being a “cool” experiment.

  3. Q&A: Real use cases and ROI
In the Q&A, participants asked about:

    • How to start small and still measure ROI

    • How to connect AI to knowledge in Jira, Confluence, and other systems

    • What needs to be ready in terms of data, processes, and culture before scaling AI

What we learned together

  • AI-powered Systems of Work are not about adding one more AI tool. They are about building a simple and connected way of working where AI is part of teamwork, knowledge, and communication. This helps organizations work more smoothly, see what improves, and support long term innovation.

  • This topic is especially helpful for CEOs, CIOs, CTOs, COOs, and heads of IT or business teams who care about performance and daily operations.

  • From my side as an Atlassian Community Leader in Vietnam, I’m happy to keep sharing real stories, examples, and lessons learned with our local community.

In short, this webinar was a small but practical step toward making AI a natural part of how we work every day, not just a trend we talk about.
