What are my best options for moving away from my reliance on excel to record all my data?

I have been recording all work instructions, inspection reports, and daily scheduling within excel for over a decade.

Trying to find another format or system that's working for you and your company.

I think the work instruction format is working fine.

Looking to remove inspection reports and add the applicable data to the schedule so everything is on one location. Also need to include a module that tracks supplier follow-up to non-conformances.

Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

At it's heart, Jira is an issue tracker, and an issue can represent anything you think of as a "work item".

It's quite likely that you can translate your excel data straight into Jira, each row being an issue and columns becoming fields.

Thank you for the warm welcome Nic. I'll have to try this format out

And, you can even visualize them in an Excel-like fashion using an Atlassian Marketplace app like Structure or JXL (or some others).

Full disclosure: I work for the company that makes Structure.

Visual management is something I'm very interested in as well, thanks Dave

You might combine the power of Excel and Jira, with our Excel 365 Connector, you can work on Jira issues in Excel: Excel 365 Connector - marketplace listing
