Welcome Wednesday: The Final Hurrah to End Summer Vacation!

Happy Wednesday Everyone!

It's really hard for me to believe that tomorrow will be September 1st.  That also happens to be my son's birthday and he will be turning 5 years old.

His birthday comes right at the end of summer vacation as he will be headed into his second year of Kindergarten next week.

My question for you this week, Do you have any plans for that one final trip? Or are you all vacationed out and are just planning to relax at home for the next little while?

My wife and I decided that we are going to take our son to LegoLand just outside of Toronto (yes I will admit, I'm super excited to go too)!  I know there will be a ton of cool things for us to see and there should be the option for some hands on building which I think we will all enjoy.

We thought this was a great time to go as we do want to start trying to get him back into the proper sleeping schedule for going to school a few nights ahead of the school start.

I'd love to here what you have planned, even if it's just sitting reading a good book.

@Jimmy Seddon our family took our vacation during the first half and middle of August. Some kids are already back in school (University and High School aged) and the middle school and elementary aged kids are labelling their school supplies and packing their knapsacks. Luckily we get one final hurrah with Labor Day in the US this Monday. We hope for decent (read: not super hot and humid) weather here in NY and hope to get a bike ride in during the morning, late morning family hike in a local forest, afternoon swim to cool down and a BBQ dinner on our front porch to end the summer. Hopefully the fireflies will be out and some fireworks will be set off in the neighborhood to signal the end of a fantastic summer.

Hi @Jimmy Seddon - Happy Birthday to your son! 

As @Andy Gladstone said, we have one last holiday and I took an extra day off to have a 4 day weekend! I don't have anything planned and I'm just going to take it as it comes. The plan Andy has for it not to be hot will not be happening here in AZ as it is supposed to be 109 on Saturday and 107 on Sunday so I'll be staying inside mostly. I do plan to start the weekend off with a bang though as Thursday night is the first ASU Sun Devil Football game and I plan to go out in the heat for that! Then I'll probably rest, maybe do a little shopping, go to a local casino to go to the buffet and that's probably it for me. I do have a big trip planned to NYC in Oct though and I'm looking forward to that!
