Miscellaneous Monday: Happy Poets Day!

Happy Monday Everyone,

Today is Poet’s Day, and inspired by the way Andy Gladstone usually reminds people that they turn for Miscellaneous Monday is fast approaching as well as the creativity from last month's Jira Riddles competition, I thought we should all start the day by flexing our creativity with a short poem. The theme? Anything you want, it could even be why you love ( or hate) Mondays! I'll kick things off!

There once was a man named Andy.
Who gave out poems like candy.
He was very creative, they were very relative,
I don’t write haikus.

I hope this helped bring a smile to your face and you have a great week ahead!

Let me try something inspiring, LOL! 

Upon that dawn, a splendid sight,
Stars and sun in radiant flight.
Exciting Monday, here it stands,
A day to revel, grasp its hands.

With coffee's kiss, a mood so fine,
Joy and focus intertwine.
Embrace the tasks that beckon near,
Celebrate this day, clear and sheer.

I used to love teaching poetry when I taught Kindergarten. An easy one for kiddos to practice with was always the acrostic poems.

And tracking

Morning Coffee ...

Dark dark, swirl in the white,
Mix in the morning,
Fade out the night.

Sugar cream, coffee bean,
Eyes start to blinking,
End the last dream.

Monday arrives, and I can't believe,
The weekend's gone in a blink, oh geez!
Alarm clock blares, I groan and plea,
"Can't I just snooze till it's Friday, please?"

But hey, it's not that bad, it's just a joke,
A chance to laugh and find some hope.
With a smile and a wink, I face the day,
Mondays, you're alright in your own quirky way!

@Jimmy Seddon I need to start taking vacation a different week than your birthday week - I keep missing your fresh posts! Good thing they remain Ad Infinium on the Community and I don't need to wait for re-runs.

In honor of you, here is a poem (bonus points if anyone can name where the refrain comes from):

In Guelph's snowy expanse, where friendships blend,
There lives a gamer, Jimmy, our friend,
With controller in hand and a heart so bold,
In pixels and quests, his talents unfold.

Gimme Gimme Jimmy, hear the call,
A gamer's spirit, he gives us his all,
A Wizard of the virtuals, his passions fly,
With every game, he reaches a new high.

Through gaming and helping, worlds arise,
Jimmy vanquishes bosses beneath the skies,
He leads the charge, an Atlassian Community guide,
In the Atlassian community, his passions collide.

Gimme Gimme Jimmy, a beacon of light,
Guiding the community through day and night,
With empathy and warmth, he shares the way,
Uniting communities, each and every day.

But beyond the screens, blue hat, hoody and swag a heart so kind,
A purpose unites him with ties that bind,
For Extra Life's cause, he takes a stand,
Supporting the sick kids, hand in hand.

Gimme Gimme Jimmy, in charity's embrace,
A hero for children, easing the struggles they face,
Raising hope and funds, he does aspire,
To spark healing flames, ever higher.

In Guelph's ACE, Jimmy stands at call,
Gamer, leader, friend, answering to all,
With keyboard, controller and heart, he uplifts the game,
Gimme Gimme Jimmy, we chant your name!
