At Team '24, it was announced that Jira Software and Jira Work Management are going to be merged into just “Jira“. In 2025, Atlassian is going on a roadshow at a number of local event chapters to talk about what this will mean in the coming months. Next, Atlassian has finished decommissioning their service that hosts a number of private GraphQL queries including CloudUser in favor of alternative public ones. If you were affected by this change, you should have already been notified. However, if you have any follow up questions, Atlassian will take them int he comments of this article.

Finally, a reminder that the external Assets platform (not the one in Jira Service Management) was shutdown yesterday. If this is the first you are hearing about this, you should check out this article for details on what is no longer functioning.

If there’s one thing I know my development teams struggle with it’s “How do I correctly estimate stories/tasks?“. @Harshit Grover has put together some really good tips on how to get better at estimating. If you are struggling with estimation, or just curious about other methods, you should give this a read through.

Finally, AI is the emerging technology that is taking the planet by storm. If you haven’t really started exploring everything that is available to you, I recommend you start by reading this fantastic article by @Bryan Guffey! Personally, I’m not familiar with a number of the tools they have presented, but now I have a starting point to do some research.
