Bite-sized Learning: Data Visualization in Rovo

G’day, Atlassian Community! 👋🏻 We’re back again with another installment of Bite-sized Learning - this time to share all of the pro tips for Data Visualization in Rovo!

I don’t know about y’all, but turning to Rovo for every-day needs has been SUCH a game-changer for me - having specific agents for specific tasks is amazing, but even just keeping Rovo Chat open while working to answer quick questions or locate specific documentation saves me so much time. So when I say I am in awe of this particular feature of Rovo’s we’re highlighting today in our favorite snackable series, I really do mean I am *in awe* 🤩

And it wouldn’t be a fresh BSL without a Bite-sized Learning: Data Visualization in Rovo badge also up for grabs from the Kudos Program!

Thank you for the update @Gopi Ravi.

In your examples you've showed how to create diagrams based on the content of a page. Is the diagram now dynamically linked to the source data or is this a static image?
Let's assume, I update some numbers would it automatically update the diagram?

Hi @Matthias Gaiser _K15t_ thanks for the feedback!

At the moment the diagram is a static image, and not connected to the source data, so if you updated numbers on the confluence doc you would need to re-create the chart to get the latest numbers

This is on our team's list of improvement ideas- to investigate how we might support dynamic linking of data to the visualization :)

Thanks for sharing!

I find Rovo to be really a cool feature and I'm working to better understand what all can be achieved. Data visualization is an awesome feature. It is so quick and so easy and produces very nice results. I'm definitely gonna have to create a confluence space with tons of data and play around with this.

Hi @PJ Zaiac @Gopi Ravi

Thanks for sharing this. I have a quick question — my team built a custom Rovo agent for one of our apps but can't seem to enable the Data Visualization feature. It appears this feature is only available for Rovo agents created directly within Atlassian products where the source is limited to Confluence or Jira. It doesn't seem to be available for activation in the Forge Rovo Module with a custom source.

Could you please confirm if this understanding is correct? If so, is there a timeline for when we can expect the Data Visualization feature to be available for agents with a custom source?
