With lots of exciting events happening in-person again after COVID, what's your favorite giveaway of all time? Do you prefer practical, cute, cool or inventive freebies? What's most likely to grab your attention? Let me know in the comments!
And yes – I admit it – we're looking for items to give away at Team '23. Your chance to influence our decision. 😉
Best,
Andreas
Yeah, the kids aspect is important. Shout out to @Craig Willson (AppFox) from AppFox and their cute plush foxes! My son still has it. 😄
This has made our day, thanks @Andreas Springer {Actonic}! It's great to hear your son still has his fox plush and there will be loads more on our stand at Team '23. We look forward to seeing you and Actonic team there :)
Same here – can't wait! 🤩
Great question @Andreas Springer {Actonic}!
Generally what will grab my attention is anything I can add to the growing collection of things that occupy all my desk space, cute & cool is probably the best way to summarize it.
So you are a collector, gotcha. :)
Practical is the way to go! I'd rather have 1 quality item, than 3 doodads.
Swag is fun, but I often resent "junk" given away (stress foam thingies! ugh!!!) because I find it wasteful and environmentally irresponsible. I do like shirts, but since vendors won't often carry XS unisex or Women's cut small, I don't get to use them 🙁
Items I still use from swag I received at conferences:
Things that end up at Goodwill right away or I try to avoid picking them up in general:
Hope that helps 🤩
It does, thank you!
Good point on sustainable goodies. We have already ruled out some options exactly for this reason.
Oh I love giveaways and swag! Good swag is useful swag for sure! My favorites are stickers, and insulated go-mugs and canteens (however I do have a lot of those!) Consumable types of swag like lip balms, or sunscreen at the sunny events. T-shirts are a plus if you get a great illustrator to make something creative with the logo! One other useful freebie I remember was USB sticks back in the day, I don't use those very often anymore though.
Thanks! I have to say, though, that from a vendor point of view, consumables are of course less desirable as they are used up eventually and when that happens any effect the branding might have had will be gone as well. 😉
I'll cast another vote for consumable type swag like mints and lip balm. Also, a big fan of fun socks and journal/notebooks!
That glasses screwdriver one sounds like perfect swag! @Rosa M Fossi
oh yeah journals! Those are great too! AND SOCKS! I'll take any swag socks now.
Mints we already have to offer, yay! 😜
And socks – yes – they have been all the rage for years now. I wonder when that hype will end, but I have to agree – I'll take some as well when I see them. 😇
Swag and goodies need to be practical. Notebooks are always good, pens depending on the quality, mugs or useful gadgets like a wireless charger, phone holder or card holder are nice.
Stickers can be nice, as long as they are appropriate for work. The rest will most likely end up in a land fill sooner or later. Let's try to avoid that.
I agree 100%. No point in having something manufactured that will most likely be thrown away. 👎🏻
My company just gave out branded sustainable fork-knife-spoon kits! Very handy/
Oh, you mean like those pocket knife things for camping? Sweet!
By the way, in addition to the usual pens, stickers and whatnot, for Team '23 we decided to give away small rechargeable ring lights which you can clip onto your device's camera, be it your laptop, tablet or phone.
For those nicely illuminated selfies and calls. :) Oh, and it can also double as a webcam cover to keep your privacy protected. How cool is that?
If you'd like to check them out, come by our booth #43. We're looking forward to meeting you. :)
