Hi everyone
Today I bring you a topic that I personally love, the big cities that have long and very showy bridges, when I like to take pictures of them the most is at night I think that is when they display all their splendor, in the image
I have put the ones I like the most
1.- Sydney Bay - Australia
2.- Bridge of Sighs - Venice
3.- Charles Bridge - Prague
4.- Rande Bridge - Vigo
5.- Brooklyn Bridge - NY
6.- Bosphorus Bridge - Turkey
What do you think? You also like bridges, I think that building them is the greatest demonstration of architecture, their design, stability, functionality and the service they provide where they are built is something worthy of admiration and appreciation Thanks to Andy Glastone for giving me the opportunity to participate and bring these curious posts that go through my head with all the colleagues of the Atlassian community
Greetings to all ;o)
I moved to Sydney cause I love the Sydney Harbour Bridge. Have so many pictures of it. Even rode the train on it when I was curious about what the Atlassian office looked like. Great space which is super-inspiring. The CBD is however not for me. 😅🤣🤣
This is the Mackinac Bridge at night - it connects Michigan's lower and upper peninsulas. My uncle was an engineer during the building of the bridge.
I'm voting for a footbridge in my hometown - Osijek 🌉
5+ years ago, they installed lights on it + a few years ago it was completely reconstructed. It's almost in the city center and it connects 2 really long walkways on both sides of the river.
When it comes to places I've not yet visited, I would probably like to see Golden Gate in San Francisco ✈️
My favorite bridge here in Milwaukee is the Hoan Bridge. They added lights a few years ago, too.
I don't really have a favorite bridge—just a favorite bridge memory. When we were kids, any time we would drive on a bridge over water, my younger brother would hide in the footwell of the back seat of the car until we got to the other side. (This was in the days before everyone had to wear a seatbelt.) To this day, I think my sister-in-law has to drive when there will be a bridge to cross. 🌉
Splendid Topic! I love bridges, too. The Golden Gate Bridge is one of my favorites. I rented a bike and rode over it to get back from Sausalito by ferry. I also like the Brooklyn Bridge (obvious choice). In Europe, the Tower Bridge is quite an impressive structure.
This year I was in Da Nang (Viet Nam), where they have the Dragon Bridge. It's head, pointing to the coast, spits real fire every friday evening. That, of course, is a real event for visitors.
Very cool topic, @Vronik ! Love the photos you included, too.... One beautiful bridge I was fortunate to see last year was the Ponte Vecchio in Florence, Italy. I didn't take this photo but it gives you the idea of its beauty and the shops along it.
Nice topic @Vronik I probably like the most your #3 - Charles bridge, it's located only a few kilometers from a place, where I live.
I've always enjoyed the bridge in the Headless Horseman's Sleepy Hollow.
Well, the favourites are the ones I have been able to cycle over - that's always a different experience:
Sydney Harbour Bridge, Sydney, Australia - on a closed to traffic event, wonderful experience!
Clifton Suspension Bridge, Bristol, UK - 7m down to the water
Golden Gate Bridge, USA - both sides, windier than expected on a loaded bike!
Ponte Sant'Angelo, Rome - just because it's so beautiful
Ponte Milvio, Rome, Italy - where a lot of my rides start!
I'm a huge fan of the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco—it’s such an iconic landmark! But when it comes to my own city, Wrocław (Poland), I have to say we’re spoiled for choice. Known as the "City of a Hundred Bridges" (and sometimes even called the "Venice of the North"), Wrocław is full of stunning crossings that add to its charm.
One of the most spectacular is the Rędziński Bridge, a modern marvel that often steals the spotlight in photos of our city. It’s a true symbol of Wrocław’s unique blend of history and innovation.
Hi @Vronik
I like
Sydney Bay - Australia and Bridge of Sighs - Venice
I most like my city cable bridge called as Durgam Cheruvu Cable Bridge which connects Hi-tech City of Hyderabad, Telangana in India.
Wow, it's spectacular, exciting, amazing
I share with you images of the Gobernador Juan Manuel de la Sota bridge in Cordoba Argentina. My beautiful city and its nature Everyone is invited to the Atlassian Community Events in Cordoba. The last one was held on the shore of that lake. A beautiful sunset.
