Friday Fun: Would You Rather?

Happy Friday, Atlassian Community! (Well, it's 5am on Friday in Sydney anyways...gives new meaning to "it's 5:00 somewhere" I guess!)

I thought that this week we could play a little Would You Rather?

I'll provide a few below - feel free to share your answers to the questions and/or share your own Would You Rather questions!

Would you rather have a completely automated home or a self-driving car?
Would you rather be completely invisible for one day or be able to fly for one day?

I asked my 12 year old her responses:

- self-driving car

- fly because I could go anywhere I wanted to

- taste buds because I wouldn't want to hear everything and it would be pretty loud

I would rather have vanilla fudge ripple over other flavors of ice cream (I know you did not ask but this is an important "would you rather" for me).

- Automated home (because of the 1999 DCOM and cinematic masterpiece "Smart House")

- Home. I'm lazy, and have automated a lot of our home already.
- Despite self-driving cars having the potential to be safer than letting us human idiots drive, we have a long way to go.
- More importantly, cars are an environmental nightmare, and we need to get rid of 99% of them (yes, including the better ones that burn electricity instead of dead dinosaur trees. Humans need to travel less)

- Invisible. As I answer that, imagine me saying "Bwahahahaha"

- Hearing

- Pictures. Until dementia kicks in, I have a memory

- Both - that is not a binary choice

That last question is a bit fuzzy. Everyone over 18 in my family has signed up for "donate what we can, then if what is left might be useful to medical science, use it"

That's a great point about the last question, @Nic Brough -Adaptavist- - I'm in the same boat with my thoughts. I also think about the fact that both cremation and burial impact our environment quite significantly, so use it all!

- A self-driving car would be nice (if it's REALLY safe)
Would you rather be completely invisible for one day or be able to fly for one day?
- Capable of fly have many benefits and it's relatively controllable, I would pass the invisible thing. I think being completely invisible would definitely get me shelled/gassed/caged/locked and sliced in some kind of lab someday.😰

- To be honest, if it won't bother my farewell ceremony too much, I'd rather sell them. (The more money I leave behind, the more Chinese Tomb Sweeping Day visits I can get for a couple more years, this zero trust strategy thing might be a little inappropriate, but that's my real thought).

- Neither, so I'll take the self-driving car. I don't actually have to use the car, but I kinda have to use the home all the time.

- Invisible. I don't fear heights, but I fear falling from great heights. :-)

- Again, neither, but I'll take hearing. I could use noise blocking headphones, but how can you dull down super sensitive taste buds when you like highly spicy food?

- Definitely pictures. I have my imperfect memories, and pictures can't pay the mortgage.

- Donate my organs

• Fly for one day: I can finally escape traffic and feel like a superhero!

Here are my answers:

I'd rather have neither, but if I had to choose, a self-driving car (= more sleep).

Would you rather be completely invisible for one day or be able to fly for one day?

I'd rather be invisible for one day, if possible, more days. Being able to fly would be super cool too though, but I'm already doing that in my dreams.

Would you rather have super sensitive taste buds or super sensitive hearing?

I'd rather have super sensitive hearing, if possible, to know what people are thinking, à la What "People" Want.

Would you rather lose all your money and valuables or lose all the pictures you have ever taken?

I'd rather lose all my money and valuables. Google Photos is my super safe. These memories are priceless.

Would you rather donate your body to science or donate your organs to people who need them?

I am an organ donor and would prefer to donate to people who need them.

>> I'm totally on board with the idea of having a fully automated home! Just imagine, after a tiring day, we can kick back and let the house handle all those mundane tasks.

>> Absolutely! Flying would be a game-changer! As much as I've enjoyed the invisibility movies, I'm all in for trying something new and soaring through the skies – it's going to be an adventure! 😄✈️
