What type of activity? What are the goals?

In the days when corporates had decent internet and most households did not, my teams used to go to (or stay in) the office in their own time to play multi-user games.  Now most of us have at least ADSL, we do it from home more.Gaming is about the only thing you can do with teams on-line, as far as I can tell, unless you count co-ordinating the next physical meet up as a team activity?

Would be good to have some online game like monopoly for retro
throw a dice... 4
"What is the biggest issue was facing guy on the left hand from you?"
If correct than go to next 4 square, if not - 4 back or earns some virtual money... and he can spend them to increase priority of his items in TODO list
Next one throw a dice ... 2
"Which 3 items were didn't solve from previous retro?"
...
We probably can find enough cards for 5-6 devs for an 30m-60m game

Who wins is choosing restaurant for teambuilding

The opportunities are endless and it depends on what your objective is. Is the objective team building or just having some fun?

If it's team building then a virtual battleships game could also be fun where one team in one location draws up the board with their ships and another team in a another location. Then each colocated teams work on their strategy, and teams are assigned roles of communicating where you want to hit and another can mark it on the board. If you have enough teams in different locations then turn it into a tournament.

If it's fun then virtual gaming is an option but if your doing it at work and the network can't handle the traffic or work laptops don't have a powerful enough graphics card then that will fizzle pretty quickly.

With Mario tennis coming out on the switch soon it's a nice simple online gaming option if you can get a switch at multiple locations.
