WIP Wednesday - What Are You Working On?

Happy Wednesday everyone! 

Like many people, I took up a million different hobbies during the pandemic to give me something productive to do with my free time.  Some of those hobbies have stuck with me over the last couple of years, namely crocheting, "Just Dance"-ing, and cross-stitching!  I thought it would be fun to share what crafting project I am currently working on and see what other folks are doing as well.

I recently became inspired to recreate the Atlassian Kudos Badges as cross-stitch patterns.  I decided to start with one of my personal favorites - the "Leader Approved" badge!

I used the site Floss Floss to create a pattern based on the above image and went from there!

Almost everything I do is a WIP. I'm still on my journey of looking up the Definition of Done!

I am often working on watercolor paintings but I haven't started one recently because I've been traveling. Instead, this Wednesday's WIP is a puzzle. My friend and I are practicing for a speed puzzling competition.  She's training fiercely and I'm trying desperately to get faster, and not really succeeding. But luckily we're only doing it for fun!

What a coincidence! I don't usually engage very frequently in large(r) side projects, but as it happens I started off a big lego build together with the kids to get them off their phones a bit at the start of the vacation. Made good progress over the past week:

I think my wife will be happy when this is complete, so we can free up space on the living room table again 😀

For me it's been the slow process of restoring a 1955 Wurlitzer Jukebox.  Let's just say it's a love of music that drives me.  To date I've replaced the amp, power supply, and button housing.  It's currently functional but looks like it spent 20+ years in a barn (which it did).  Next steps redo the veneer, paint and nickel plating.  The sound is amazing, now to just make her pretty again.

My current WIP is making 25 personalized can "koozies" for my sister's bachelorette party this weekend...the due date is quickly approaching. LOL! 

I also took up lots of hobbies over the pandemic - I tried out embroidery for a bit (did a daily journal for about 4 months), but cross stitch looks like it might be more up my alley! I've also dabbled in macrame and knitting. I tend to come back to using my cricut the most just because it's easy.

@Monique vdB a fine mix of rock & roll dating from the late 50's to the 90's... With a bit of 70's rebel country and western in the mix.  However there's boxes of 45's around here, so the swap out is easy enough.... changing the labels well that's another topic, those cards are now very difficult to locate, and reproductions regardless of quality just don't seem to fit well.  Recently purchased the Beetles 45 box set, I love that vinyl has made a come back and new releases of modern bands can be purchased on the format.  I never took to digital sound and both my wife and I have vinyl from our childhood as well as our almost 5 decade marriage.  Her constant WIP is quilting.  She owns the basement, floor to ceiling fabrics, walls lined with various machines ranging from a long arm to embroidery ... :)

I picked up acrylic painting before the pandemic and really got into it during the pandemic. I also started doing a lot of puzzles and then I found out about Harry Potter Legos! I love the big projects like you @Walter Buggenhout! Even though it is no longer a WIP, I just finished the Hungarian Horntail (see pic below). Similar to @Craig Nodwell I also collect vinyl records and that is always and always will be a WIP!

I am an Atlassian Community newbie.  Atlassian Community is filled with talented people.  Lots of information.  Impressive people, Art, crafts, collectibles, etc, too!  I am a true believer in Work Life Balance.  

My WIP today is striving to reach 1K points by COB today while training!  Watercooler chitchat is a great diversion while I am doing the Atlassian / JIRA software Onboarding. 

I considered making a Workflow for Badges but decided to stay under the radar.  I wonder if my Supervisor will catch on that I am shamelessly collecting the Badges and Points while JIRA training. 

I am on a scavenger hunt for the Points and Badges while training and mastering my levels.  My first "BADGER" task on Friday was to GO-BACK to any Wednesday post!   This thread was very apropos.

Clearly I should have set my sights higher since I reached my 1K Points goal before lunch, lol.  I got kudos, too, without even trying.  The ATLASSIAN Community is generous with their time, knowledge, and rewards. 

I would set the bar higher but it's Friday.  I plan to reach new levels next week during my JIRA Onboarding!

@Monique vdB - Thank you so much!  I finished the "badge" yesterday so I will share it in my "WIP Wednesday" post today.  :)  I will also reveal the next kudo badge I am working on... *mystery noises* lol  The succulent puzzle is adorable!

@Walter Buggenhout - OMG THAT IS HUGE!  How long have you and your kids been working on it?  It already looks amazing!

I am currently working on family history outside of work.  I enjoy working on the family tree, meeting all the cousins, traveling to find the history.  I also collect the ancestor's photos, recipes, stories, and finding out about the hobbies that have been passed down to the descendants.

The build is complete, @Ditte Simard 🎉💥🎉 - I did not really keep a clock at hand, but it took us around a week (7 days or so), building between 1 and 2 hours on average each day ...

On some days also spending half an our or so trying to find out why a few pieces were missing because we had accidentally used them in a wrong place 😅
