Problem Description:
I am trying to integrate Google Drive with Trello using the official Google Drive Power-Up. However, when I try to connect my Google account, I get the following error message:
"This app is blocked. This app tried to access sensitive info in your Google Account. To keep your account safe, Google has blocked this access."
I have already tried the recommended troubleshooting steps:
My Google account type is [specify if it’s a personal or corporate/Google Workspace account], and this error is fully blocking the integration. Could you provide any guidance or adjustments to enable the connection?
It's ridiculous that Trello doesn't just clearly explain this process to beginners.
Here's a step-by-step guide to manually configure access to Trello through your Google Admin Console:
1. Log in to your Google Admin Console.
2. Navigate to "Security" → "Access and Data Control" → "API Controls".
3. Click "Manage Third-Party App Access".
4. Select "Configure New App" and then choose "OAuth App Name or Client ID", if prompted.
5. In the search bar, type "Trello" and select the first result: "Trello (Web)".
6. Under "Scope", choose "All in NA (all users)".
7. Click "Next".
8. Set the access level to "Trusted" for Trello to interact with Google data.
9. Finally, click "Finish" to save your configuration.
Once done, Trello will have the necessary permissions for seamless integration.
Let me know if any steps are unclear. Cheers :)
:) you gave me GREAT hope - (thanx) until I found out that I cant reach Google admin Console with my regular @Gmail.com - user
Iam now wondering how in the world I can get to be a "superadmin" for my own account (wich I did create myself - no work/school-account) If @Trello cant fix the bug I will go elsewhere with my company- and no Trello-nomore. Dropbox-links also stopped working, and I may not see the point anymore.

Thanks for raising the issue. We have submitted an update to Google. We are waiting on them to approve. Once it's approved, users should be able to link to their google accounts. Note: Google sometimes takes forever to approve app updates.

Hi Guarav
Just wondering whether you had any more info on this matter? We're also looking to potentially onboard the team with Trello, however on testing this afternoon came across the same problem that has been outlined by other users.
Are you able to provide a timeline for resolving the issue?
Thanks
Billy

Hello Gaurav, is there any movement on this issue? The error still has not been resolved and the temporary workaround creates a very messy card, meaning for an organisation tool it is unusable.

Hi. I am considering if I will use trello with my team, but just these past three weeks I notice that dropbox is not compatible, and there are issues with google drive (I have same problems as mentooned above) - and now google chat-function also has a error-message so I cant get this to work . When will problems with google-drive and chat be resolved? I am starting to wwonder if this might not be the platform I need. Will there be solutions soon?
Regards PA Bakksjoe

Hello, Danilo
Welcome to the community.
First of all, so sorry to hear about your experience!
We are aware of this issue and are working with Google to fix it. I have added you to the existing bug report we have open for this issue: TRELLO-756
As a temporary workaround, you can disable a Power-Up and paste links to your Google Drive in the cards. These links will automatically show as Google Drive attachments due to our native integration with Google Drive attachments, as shown in the picture below.
Disabling the Google Drive Power-Up will not cause any loss of data to your Drive files, and all Drive attachments on cards will remain.
I have added this ticket to the bug report as an internal comment for our engineering team to see and reference if needed as well as align priority. I would also encourage you to visit that bug, log in with your Atlassian account, and click Start watching this issue on the right panel. That way, when the ticket is updated by our development team, you'll be notified via email.
Apologies for the inconvenience caused!
Let me know if this brings up any new questions.
Best regards,
Alisson

I'm also having this issue and the workaround provided here won't work for me because the file is too large (exceeds the 10 allowed). Do we have an eta when this might be fixed?

I'm having the same problem, and I guess this is happening to most Drive/Trello users. Plus, Google Admin Console can't be accessed again I'm guessing for most of us, at least not for me and someone wrote about that too. I'm writing Google's support to, to see if I can get an answer, but this is honestly lame. I've been using this integration for YEARS without problems and suddenly, when I tried to add the powerup to a new board, I get this.

When will this task be assigned to a team member? We use this power up all day long and a teammate can't access it. The ticket has been open for 18 days - it'd be nice to know it's being worked on. Thank you.
