How many members can be under free version?

I created a board as a template and now would like to share it with my team. I wan them to be able to copy this template and change how they need and the main feature is to assign a member to the card, so that person would receive notifications.
I saw in the description for a free version that up to 10 collaborators can be added to the board and use it.
But when I tried to add 1 new member - I received a message that I'd be billed 12.50$ monthly.

Does it mean that there can be only 1 member under free version? or what does collaborators mean?

10 collaborators can be added to the entire workspace, not just one board.

That being said...I think that when you have the free version, it will just stop you from adding the user if you're over the limit, not attempt to bill you.

So, what it sounds like to me is that you're not on the free version. I could be wrong.
