How do I change the spacing to single line in the new editor?

When I type in the "Description" field, it is always spaced like a line and a half or double spacing and it just takes up too much room.  I use it to keep personal information contacts that are involved in this particular card, but it just goes on forever!  I can't seem to put them in single line as I could before.

@Patricia Marek Welcome to the Atlassian community

You can just hit shift enter at the end of each sentence to have a single line break.

I’m working on a Mac, I don’t have an ENTER button.  Return doesn’t work…

@Brant Schroeder the solution to always hit shift/enter at the end of a sentence is not very efficient when you have a lot of information to add to the description box. Also, when you paste information in the box, it will automatically double space. Having to go back at the end of each sentence to hit shift/enter is very time consuming.

Is there a way Atlassian can give the option to the end user in settings to continue with this formatting or change it to single line?

@Patricia Marek I am not a big Mac user but I believe that shift+ fn + return is what you need to do.

@Thuy Shapiro This is standard WYSIWYG editor functionality and has been for decades.  I would suggest contacting support and seeing if they have a recommendation or asking them if they can implement this type of feature.  https://trello.com/en/contact#/

@Brant Schroeder thank you for the quick response. This definitely was not going on before the upgrade happened to my account. Thank you for offering a suggestion.

Let's just change it back. Who thought this was a good idea anyway?

Just adding to the chorus here that spacing should be what it is always is, single lined. Incredibly annoying little bug.

I agree with going with single spacing and leaving it alone.  If I want a double space I can just hit the return twice.  The really weird thing is that it doesn't do the double spacing when I use my phone app but does on my computer.  I appreciate to fix of hitting shift+return to get the single space, but how annoying it is.
