Escape key no longer closes card?

For at least the last several days, when I have a card visible and press the Esc key on my keyboard, nothing seems to happen. Whereas the Esc key previously would close the card, returning me to the board.

Is this an intentional change, a bug, or something I'm doing wrong?

Hi @mattridge which browser are you using to access Trello?

Chrome - I just updated it when I went to check the version number and now the Esc key closes the card. Do you think that was the cause?

Now I'm running Chrome Version 129.0.6668.71 (Official Build) (64-bit)

@mattridge I would expect Esc to close the card on any version of Chrome, so the behavior your saw is puzzling and not expected. Please keep a close eye and let me know if you experience this behavior again.

Yeah it could have been a glitch that simply updating Chrome resolved. Thanks Andrea.

@mattridge Do you still have that glitch with the Esc key?

For the past week I've been having a similar issue with Esc/D keys:
they would stop working whenever I opened/closed a calendar to assign due date either for a card or a checklist item. It could have been caused by a Jira pop-up ad which spawned upon the calendar was opened. In my case the ad behaved weirdly, disappearing almost instantly, disabling me from clicking on it/closing it in a normal way.

@Sam I haven't noticed the issue with the Esc key not closing the card since I updated Chrome on the 25th. Sounds like some very strange behavior with the popup ad that doesn't sound like a Trello feature but may be a browser add-in that is popping up ads. I do not get any popup ads anywhere in Trello.
