Hello everyone,
unfortunately, my superior accidentally deleted our professionally shared Trello board. This board was created by my predecessor who now no longer works for us and therefore unfortunately no longer has any access to his work e-mail account and therefore this board. As the board is very important for organising our work, I wanted to ask whether it would be possible to restore it?
If it says you can reopen the board, then luckily you've avoided the worst outcome, as the board still exists / was not deleted / is merely closed.
Its a little confusing though, as I think only admins can close boards... so your Boss should surely(?) have admin privileges if they were able to close the board in the first place?... not sure what's going on there... Has your boss tried reopening it through their account?
Might be worth checking... if you go to the Workspace that board belonged to, then go to Members, you should be able to check which accounts are considered Guests, Workspace Members, and Workspace Members with Admin privileges. Then anyone with Admin should be able to close/reopen boards....
If you're all listed as Guests, or non-Admin, might have to reach out to Trello Support directly (accessed through your icon in the top-right of Trello and going to Help).
@Zoe Gallagher you might want to take a look at this link: https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Trello-questions/How-do-I-remove-a-board-created-by-a-former-employee/qaq-p/1673047

So the only way to restore the deleted board would be to upgrade to Business Class? Am I understanding this correctly? The person is this thread is looking to delete, not to restore like we are.

Hi Zoe,
If you've closed the board and wish to re-open it, you can view all closed boards and select re-open (steps here.)
Unfortunately if you've deleted the board, that is permanent and cannot be recovered.
Hope this helps.

Hi Danny,
as neither my superior or I are admin of the closed board, we are not able to recover it. She said she deleted my former co-workers workspace. When I click on the link to the board it says to contact the admin (my former co-worker) to reopen the board.
