What I'm tryin to do is this. I email a card into Trello. The body of the email becomes the description of the new card. Can I pull information from that description and turn it into a card? EX:

12345.101A Test, TX 05.22.24

12345.102B Test, TX 05.22.24

If those 2 items were in the description, how to I convert them into cards?

Hi @Mason Stanley ,

I'm a Product Manager on Trello.

You could do the following:

  1. Email to your board.
  2. Open the card back and copy the lines of text you want to be individual cards.
  3. Add a checklist to the card using the button in the right hand navigation.
  4. Paste the lines you copied into the first checklist item. Trello will split the separate lines into their own individual checklist items.
  5. Then you choose "Convert to card" on the checklist item menu.

But this is a lot of steps.

In the future, if we were to improve this feature, what would you like it to do instead? For example, would it be helpful if when you forwarded the email to your board, you could also provide some instructions like "separate out bulleted items into cards" and the result was a new card for every bulleted item. Would that be helpful? Also open to any other ideas on how this feature could work better for your use case.

Cheers,
Beth

Yes! That would be perfect! Convert bullet points into new cards would be exactly what I need.
