If you have a lot of cards in your Trello boards (raises hand), it can be a bit overwhelming to keep track of all of them. And when you're in Trello, you can easily apply a filter to show cards that are due in the next day... but what happens when you're outside Trello? I built a PixieBrix extension that shows my Trello cards due today in a side panel anytime I open a new tab.
I might start limiting it to just specific sites, like social media, or other distracting sites. But it's a great way to see a sticky note of "here's what i need to focus on today".
It looks like this.
It's not as hard to configure as you'd think!
You just need to make two extensions - one to grab the current date and a board of cards, then render the ones due today in a sidebar panel, and another extension to open the sidebar panel when any (or specific) webpages open.
If you've never used PixieBrix before, it's a browser extension that lets you customize UI of webpages to make them more functional for you, including Trello... I have a lot of different things I do with it for Trello, such as a quickly creating cards in Trello, scheduling comments in Trello, and all sorts of other things).
Here's a video walking through how to build it if you're interested, and if you have any questions, let me know in the comments and I'm happy to help!
