How to view all checklist items in Trello

I like doing most things in Trello, but my biggest gripe is that checklist items are so close to being ✨absolutely amazing✨ but also not quite there yet. One of the things that would make it incredibly useful is to have a way to view all your checklist items.

I'm going to show you a few ways this is possible natively in Trello, but spoiler alert, you're probably going to want to scroll to the end and check out the Power-Up that does this for you.

But you know, for fun, read through the other options to see what makes the Power-Up route so special. Plus, there's really something for everyone here!

Options for viewing all your checklist items in Trello

At the moment, when you want to do that, there are a few workarounds, but none are perfect:

1) Trello home view (go to trello.com and look at "my items" at the top)

2) Calendar Views (but not timeline views, and not workspace calendar views, so only one board)

3) My favorite (til recently)... using automation to create linkedin cards from checklist items.

This kinda works, but it's more work than most people want to do.

4) Use the Checklist Summary Power-Up to combine all your checklist items across cards and boards

I discovered this new Power-Up recently while looking for some inspo for my Trello newsletter and it does exactly what it says on the box... brings all your checklist items together in one view.

You can add it to any board and pull in checklists across that board (and other boards) then view them in a table with columns for assignee, due date, and details about the checklist card and board they live in.

From here, you filter to only see checklist items assigned to certain members or with specific text in them, and you can sort by due date.

Even better—you can actually group columns like assignee and card/board, so you can have the total view but still keep everything in context.

I made this video showing how it works.

NOTE: I didn't develop the Power-Up by I know the folks at Mig make a lot of cool stuff and are very receptive to user feedback, and I'll happily point them to check out the comments on here!
