How to Schedule Comments on Trello

I'm not sure what got it stuck in my head, but for some reason this week I could not stop thinking about how to schedule comments in Trello. You know, sometimes you're late-night updating Trello boards, but don't want to send notifications to everyone at off hours. (Just me burning the midnight Trello candle?)

And I didn't think there was a power-up or any solution for it. I thought maybe I could figure it out with Butler, but no such luck. But I did end up finding a solution with a little help from my friends. Aka, my other favorite tools in my toolbox (PixieBrix and Zapier).

Here's what it looks like:

And here's a video showing you how to build it! (It's honestly a little hard to follow in screenshots and text, so video is probably the easiest way to consume)

As someone who does work at odd hours (case in point) this is super helpful, thanks!

Awesome! For another quick hack, you can also use the Email for this card feature and then schedule an email from your email client.

  1. Open any card
  2. Click Share
  3. Copy the value in Email for this card
  4. Open your email client
  5. Compose an email to the Email for this card email address
  6. Schedule the email for what time you want the comment posted (assuming your email client can schedule emails. Gmail can, for example)
