Hello,
There are so many posts discussing badges and certification, which is a little confusing to me. Here are a couple of questions I have, It would be appreciated if they can be answered.
1. What is the difference between certification and badge?
2. Once received the certification, does anything else need to do for the activation of it? or the Badge?
3. What is the badge used for?
4. Are both - badge and certificate - expired together?
Thanks in advance
Zoey
Yes, like @lara.salice said, make sure you take the badge exam before the certification expires.
1) Certain badges can extend certifications for another 2 years (plus you keep adding specific knowledge);
2) Once you pass the exam, the certification is valid. No badge is needed to activate after certification exam;
3) With a badge you learn and demonstrate specific knowledge. In addition to that you can extend the certification;
4) Certifications and badges expire after 2 years.
Also if those certificates/badges are linked with your community profile, you can get some recognitions and some authority, because when you check user profile you will see all passed certifications & badges :)
Good luck!
