I think indicating which developers, partners, and enthusiasts are qualified (as definied by Atlassian corporate) would be a good long-term strategy to building brand awareness and loyalty.
Atlassian Certification is available, check out our website at https://www.atlassian.com/university/certification. We have Atlassian Certified Professional credentials for JIRA Administration and Confluence Administration. Coming soon is Agile Development with JIRA Software.
@Julia Johnson, is any developer certification in the pipeline? That would be really awesome!

Hi Yagnesh, around September we'll be launching a Certification for Scrum masters and project leads, on Agile Development with JIRA Software. Something specifically for Developers isn't on our roadmap yet. If we were to build something that would be of real value to developers, what would it look like to you? I'm interested to know what you'd like to see....

@Julia Johnson, good to know about the new upcoming certifications.
Well, as a developer, it would be cool to have something like Atlassian Certified Plugin Developer or maybe just Atlassian Certified Developer certification, internally referring to, again, plugin development itself.
The certification can be further categorized into , say Server and cloud versions OR maybe further on individual Atlassian products alone - like JIRA, Confluence etc.
I am into Atlassian plugin development from a quite a long time, so I think having a certification like that will be something really cool.
Again, these are just my initial thoughts, probably Atlassian can improvise on this further as pertinent.

Thanks for this input Yagnesh, I really appreciate it!

As the author of the book Practical JIRA Plugins (O'Reilly, 2011) I'm a big fan of helping developers. But I think that improving the tutorials would be more help for more people at the moment

And in addition to our Certified Professional (ACP) credentials, we now offer Certified Associate (ACA) credentials. You can learn more about ACAs here.

One form of proving that you have a breadth of experience with Atlassian products (although, admittedly, not much depth) is the Atlassian Dragon Slayers training.
If you qualify for a Dragons T-Shirt, then you've got something even more valuable that a certification on a piece of paper!

Hi Justin, Atlassian has been running a Partner Program for some time now. You can use the Partner Search to find partners who specialse in training, development, hosting or all of the above. We even rely on our Partners to help us build new features and new products from time to time - so if they are good enough for us we beleive they will be good enough for you.

It's something we've kicked around from time to time, but haven't made any plans to create a certification program.

If you see the latest Atlassian business actions then you will see that certification would be contradictory: Atlasian categorized their partners into Premier (and the rest) to indirectly redirect business opportunities toward their big partners.
And now.. Do you ask about a new level of segmentation? Premiere Partners -> Rest of partners -> Individuals certified?
It's just the opposite to what Atlassian is trying to achive.
Before getting tons of negative votes I want to clarify that I'm not Atlassian employee nor partner. And I think that creating Premier partners is not a bad idea.

I would love to see partner sponsored qualification and certification. A good certification is personal and invidual. That's where partners can help a lot and will definitely love to.

Agreed. I think a Confluence Certified Developer certification would be great, especially if it were cheap.
