what is teams for ?

/jira/people/team/

Cloud jira

I tried to find a way to use it in JQL , but without success, I though it is easer way to manage temporary teams, than create huge filters like 'user in ()', so I would to have two types of queries:

select tickets assigned to members of my teams
select ticket assigned to member of some team

Is it possible ? If not, then what is usage of teams ? 

ps: I not jira administrator.
