As a project manager, I will use the DACI Strategic Play to clarify roles, ensure accountability, and drive decisions efficiently in the Use Case: of  “Prioritizing Features for a Product Release” featuring the following roles:

  • The Driver: - I, as the project manager, will be responsible for facilitating discussions and ensuring a decision is reached.
  • The Approver - Will be the Product Owner, who has the authority to prioritize features.
  • The Contributors - Will be the Developers, Designers, and marketing team members who provide input on technical feasibility, design implications, and market demand.
  • Those Informed will include Senior management, sales team, and support team who need to know the final prioritized list for planning purposes.

The Play Action Steps will include:

1. My organizing a meeting in which I will share a list of proposed features, and clarify the decision needed.

2. The Contributors, mentioned above, will discuss the pros and cons of each feature.

3. The Product Owner (Approver), will decides the final prioritization.

4. My documenting the decision and informing the named stakeholders.

The Tools that I will useto execute the DACI Play include:

  • Confluence: For documenting roles, decisions, and meeting notes.
  • Jira: To link the decision to related tasks or epics.
  • Miro or MURAL: For collaborative brainstorming and role-mapping during the session.
