Without a proper kick-off meeting with all stakeholders, any project is doomed to fail.
Very true. Kickoff meetings are really required.
The kickoff is a good place to get everyone pointed in the same direction.
Now all we need to do is keep them pointed in that direction ;)
Seriously though this is one of the keys to a successful project
Thanks for sharing
Nice..thank you for sharing!
Need to bring this to my teams and start implementing it.

Great points!
I agree. Vision and Mission should be understood
So glad that Confluence now has the whiteboards built in for those project kick-off meetings.
Kick-Off most Important, I am the most biggest fan of kick-off timing in the project.
We do practice this with our clients, but I'm not so sure about having the same practice when it comes to internal projects 🤔 (and that might be one of the reasons they are stuck at a specific implementation stage). Anyhow, defining and sharing the vision with all stakeholders is one of the keys to having a successful project - IMO.
Still waiting to sit in on a project kickoff meeting.
Very true. Skipping the 'Kick-off' meeting is just like not listening to the Prelude of a foot-tapping song. The interlude might be as great, but it is the Prelude that sets the mood.
great post!
Resurrecting this thread. It's really easy to launch into projects thinking that they are all rinse and repeat, only to have things bite us. I also find that skipping the kickoff can cause a lot of delays in getting various teams into action and have the tasks on their sprints in time. Thanks. Good article.
