Roles and responsabilities is in my opinion is a good way to show to every team which part of job we are developing and who is developing. A best reward of this is related to the possibility to clarify who we must to talk about each part of the process eliminating the "guess time".
Hello everyone. I've been a PMP for many years, and a challenge that seem always to come up when starting a new project is gathering the data needed to build the RACI chart and Communication Plan. The Confluence template for Working Agreements looks like a great technique to start the process of creating both of these PMI best practices documents.
The Network of Teams Play could benefit our teams. Right now the linkages across teams are quite weak and there doesn't seem to be much awareness of the problem until we start attempting to take action.
Having researched and used some of the other plays here as part of the team I worked with, the network of team plays really stands out. The working world needs collaboration for success and this is a great way of understanding and fostering the relationships between all team members.
I now work in several teams. In particular, I consider the Roles and Responsibilities Play to be very useful for achieving a common understanding within the team. How do I see myself, how do others perceive me, and what responsibilities are there? Who sees himself responsible for what and what I also find most important are the obvious and the not directly recognizable responsibilities that exist. Which tasks team members also fulfill on the side.
It is absolutely essential for respective team members to know and understand each other's roles and capacity. A team is generally diverse considering each one's background and the fact that they all bring something different to the organization. In order to function seamlessly and derive success out of the tasks, a team must be aware of it's strengths and also the weaknesses. One can cultivate his or her strengths by sharing it with others, and can overcome the weakness by asking the right person for support, where ever and whenever needed. There is nothing more fruitful than identifying the skillsets of all the team members, and then learning/growing together as a team.
By utilizing Jira's Shape teams, we can enhance our team's effectiveness by streamlining our backlog management, optimizing sprint planning, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. These plays empower us to work more efficiently and collaboratively, ultimately leading to better outcomes.
I think our team will greatly benefit from the Team Poster Play, we are a very new team with some new members added to the organization, we need to first know about each member so we can have a suitable strategy and way of work to accomplish our goals
More effective to use Role and Responsibilities since they're designated with their own tasks, it is easier to update to whom and gives communication to the team.
The biggest issue faced at my company is roles and responsibilities because there is a fear of reprisal if something goes wrong. I have never experienced this as I usually come into a project or program when it is in trouble, so it is an all-hands on deck situation. Starting a project or program by clearly outlining roles and responsibilities will ease the issues around who is supposed to do what and lead to successful completion of more projects and programs.
Teams within my organization are very dependent upon each other but many do not even share overlapping work days due to time zones difference. Identifying needed team relationships and giving responsibility to individuals to own and strengthen those relationships seems like a great way to overcome this particular challenge.
I will definitely create a Working Agreements Play document for my call center team.Because this agreement is not static, it will evolve as the team learns and adapts. Regularly reviewing and updating the agreement based on feedback and experiences can lead to continuous improvement in our complaint response times.Using everyone on the team to help identify bottlenecks or inefficiencies in their processes and make necessary adjustments will enhance everyone’s ability to respond to customer complaints more effectively.
Obviously the Roles and Responsibilities Team Play is essential to organize the team, to inform others about the team, to facilitate internal team communications,, and to give the team direction as well. It is very important, essential, to gather the Team Roles and Responsibilities information to match the Skill Set(s) required for any given project. How a Team is organized determines project outcomes and key results.
I believe all four of these plays have value for teams. But if I need to pick, then I pick two of these plays:
Roles and Responsibilities
Network of Teams
Working on cross functional projects where teams rely on others to be successful definitely has challenges and that's right, you guessed it, those challenges most often arise in what team member roles are and the relationships they have with other teams. I've seen duplication of effort, confusion or assumptions that "someone else is doing that (whatever "that" may be)" and can't really see why there are some sort of dependencies on other teams and how much those dependencies impact their work.
Thank you, Atlassian, for providing templates to help facilitate such conversations and getting teams to be more intentional about their work!
My team consists of 5 people including me. After watching the course, I found that the best plays for my team would be the Team Poster and Roles and Responsibilities. There have been some changes to the staffing lately, and some roles and objectives are not as clear as they used to be previously. It may result in overworked team members and a feeling of rejection or dissatisfaction with work. Using these techniques, I think, might help prevent that and spark motivation.
My new team can of course be shaped clearly by following all 3 plays. The most effective one right now, would be team poster then roles and responsibilities followed by setting working agreements. I can see how putting these in place one by one can prevent a lot of dysfunction. In my previous team, we'd often face issues with miscommunication thus, I'd lay emphasis on setting clear working agreements b/w members this time.
What my 15 member team would really benefit from is clarity in roles and responsibilities. Everyone does almost everything irrespective of their levels that it makes it difficult to differentiate people on basis of what they were hired to do.
It's essential that the work team knows each other's roles and can set individual expectations based on the responsibilities for each role and those that are shared. For this, the team agreements, which are mutable, must be explicit and reviewed periodically so that the work dynamics flow in function of the team's final objective.
