The Team Poster is no imposter!

No, it is not an imposter:

Nor is it a concert poster like this ($10 tickets!):

I work in a very small team. However, our team was affected some time ago with a drastic change and also has experienced/been affected by quite a bit of changes in the teams around us. So it felt like a great idea to run the Team Poster
We already had a landing page that covered some of what this playbook talks about but...  we didn't have all of the sections there plus we hadn't formally sat down and gone through it together.
I really liked the questions that this playbook takes us through, for example:

What problem(s) are we solving? Why?

These questions pushed us against the wall and made us really think about and define those problems. I genuinely feel this was a bonding experience that got us on the same page and allowed us to talk about our roles in a safe space.
I really recommend you run this play, if you haven't already or haven't in awhile. I have even started promoting this play within my organization for other teams...
Have a great Friday!

@Kristján Geir Mathiesen thanks for the post. Any pointers for teams that may be looking to do this in the future? Was your session remote, in-person, or hybrid? Any specific prep that helped facilitate a more productive session?

Ah, @Andy Gladstone We had remote session and since we use Confluence, of course, each person opened up that page. We had a scribe and then made sure each person had a say in all of the points.

I should have give a better context/scope before scheduling the meeting. Next time...

Whether it be a Team Poster or a Team Mission Statement, having some vision for the team (in my opinion) is essential.  Everyone needs to know what direction you're going.  Otherwise you may get to end goal, but not even know you're there.

Thanks @Kristján Geir Mathiesen

Several teams I have supported have combined these ideas with an annual check-in to: retrospect, have fun together, update our mission and measures, and refresh our working agreement...with the last one taking the form of a team poster.

Hi @Kristján Geir Mathiesen, thanks for sharing the experience with this play, and making me aware of it. This is a play I will certainly use with new client teams.

Very well done. I wish I would of read this sooner. So going to talk to the team about this I like the highlight about a safe place. I think trust is import and feeling safe to discuss is also so very important.

This might be a post from last year, but I am looking into running this now. Great stuff!
