2 plays and 1 tutorial that help you nail your goals for 2018

5 Habits for 2018_featured@2x.png

If you're like us, you've got big plans for 2018 – and now is the time to make sure you're set up to nail them.

For those of you leading major projects this year, check out the project kick-off play. Not that project kick-offs are anything new... it's just that, too often, the hour is spent listening to information you could've read individually. (Boring!...)

By contrast, a good project kick-off unites the team under a shared vision and has you making decisions before you've even left the room. So we pulled together a handful of must-have activities for your agenda, and a few others to sprinkle in as needed.

And if your game-changing project is also a) ludicrously complex; and b) technical, don't miss the aptly-named ludicrously complex software projects play. Instead of step-by-step instructions, this play equips you with a set of principles and tactics to keep momentum high.

But first, assess whether your project team has the right stuff using the Team Health Monitor. (Remember: you don't have to report to the same manager to be a team!) It's a great way to identify any additional skills or structure you'll need to make the project a success.

Identify any additional skills or structure you'll need so you can take action and get back to the business of accomplishing your goals.

If the whole Health Monitor thing feels a bit nebulous and scary, take heart: we've partnered with online education powerhouse SkillShare to produce a 40-minute video tutorial. Watch it on your lunch break today, then schedule an hour with your team to put it into practice.

We've also built out slide decks for Health Monitor "champions" and facilitators. Download it for Keynote or for PowerPoint

Set yourself up for a successful year, and give 2018 your all. It's going to be awesome.

Cheers,

-the Team Playbook team
