How can I create an event on Team Calendar without associating with a user/owner for that?

we need to have a company wide holiday calendar that is accessible for all groups, but I can't seem to find a way to create an event without assigning to a named user.

There got to be a way to do this right? How do I do this?

thanks!

The event type "Event" doesn't require a user, the field is optional. Some of the other event types like "Leave" do require the user field to be populated. I created a custom event type "Holiday", choosing all the defaults, and it did not make the user required, so you could do that to have more descriptive names for the types of events. To create a new event type, click Add Event and then Add new Event Type:
