What is the difference between Access to Product and Product Administration?

Paulam Chang November 15, 2021

I want to create a group where users can publish incidents or maintenance, and add users. The user will not be able to manage components

is this possible?

Thanks.

Hello Paulam,

This is Jesse from the Statuspage support team. Thank you for your question around controls for your users. For Statuspage, Access to the product gives you the naccess to do all the functions of managing the Statuspage. Product Admins have the additional ability to create API keys and manage users. You can give permissions to users to only see the pages you want them to see. These are the only differences between the two.

We don't currently have the granularity of role based administration so there is no way to get users with some manage capabilities while excluding others. As things are today, you either have access to manage the whole page or none of the page.

Hopefully that helps answer your question. Please let me know if you have any other questions.

Regards,
Jesse
