How do I link my tstatuspage to a different Atlassian cloud instance

We have 2 JiraSW/Atlassian cloud sites currently. This was due to a company merger. We now have consolidated all requirements and would like to decommission one of the instances. But, that instance has our statuspage linked to it. Is there a way to link to the operational JiraSW/Atlassian instance?

Hi there Prath,

Thanks for writing into Community, I'm Talar from the Atlassian Statuspage support team, happy to help!

You have 2 options really and a few points to consider!

Points to consider:

  • We often advise customers to run 2 sites in their Atlassian org, one for their main, and one for their Statuspage product. The reasoning behind this is “Trusted Users”. This is a user role that has access to ALL products in a site (intentional by design).
  • Customers have often used this for people meant to be accessing both Jira & Confluence products.
  • Statuspage is very vigilant in license enforcement - if you have 10 licenses and 10 people assigned to Statuspage, then we won’t let you add people to groups if that group has access to Statuspage. Since Trusted Users have access to ALL products they count as using a Statuspage license even if they’re not intended to be using the product and this cannot be avoided.
  • Additionally - we often see that the users for a Statuspage Product (Comms Managers) are very different from the administrators of Jira / Confluence and it’s easier to logically separate them into different sites.

Having said that... the options are:

Option 1: Move Statuspage into the same Atlassian Organisation as your active Atlassian Products but on its own Atlassian Site

This can be done by anyone is who is an "ORGANIZATION ADMIN" for both the source and destination Atlassian Organisations.

They should follow the preparation + transfer steps as they are listed here: https://support.atlassian.com/organization-administration/docs/transfer-products-to-another-organization/

Option 2: Move Statuspage into the same Atlassian Site as your active products.

This process is possible for SOME accounts (not all) and therefore cannot be self-served. Please pop in a support ticket (https://support.atlassian.com/contact/) and we can assist with checking to confirm if it is possible.

Regards,
Talar
