My requirement is to have a filed in statuspage.io to mark whether an Incident is a major outage or not.
What are the possibility in achieving it. This filed to be returned with API incidents list too.

You are not able to add custom fields to Statuspage. However, when you create an incident and it progresses through it's marked with an 'Impact' severity from Critical, Major, Minor or None. Perhaps this could work for you?
