I was wondering what I can do to fix this. I have tried using both the system and the embedded git and running git lfs install and git lfs pull in the repo.
however, everytime I start sourcetree on this computer I am prompted with "it appears the binary file content has not been downloaded. Do you want to download the LFS files required by your current checkout?"
git status from the bash shows nothing. I have freshly installed sourcetree and git for windows
After updating to version 3.4.2 I am getting the same problem.
When I click "Yes" it pulls nothing down and then says complete.
This is now an easy fix. Go to Tools -> Options-> Git and under Git-LFS, check the box for "Suppress Git LFS pull".

This occurs because the implementation of how LFS content is checked that it is pulled, is flawed.

Same problem - quite annoying. I end up using command line more now because opening up a view to a repo does this everytime.

Recently just reinstalled windows on a new drive on my machine and thought I had config issues or something with the new setup, but turns out this is a new problem.
In other words, I can also confirm I get this pop-up every time I open Sourcetree now.

I've also hit this after updating to 3.4.2 and updating the embedded Git on Sourcetree's recommendation.

Installed a OLD VERSION of SOURCETREE from archives
REBOOT WINDOWS (windows environment variable update only if you reboot)
Added the REPRO

Having the same issue, seemed to be introduced in the latest SourceTree update.

Same here, I also tried adding git to my env path like they advised here Sourcetree asks to download LFS adapter every star... (atlassian.com) didn't work.
I'm really curious how to fix this.
