"github API call failed" when connecting to hosted project

Hiya all

This is my first time at setting up sourceTree and a new GitHub account.

I have create dthe new gitHub account and set a up a repository for source tree to connect to. but when clcik on hosted projects and then edit accounts, my details for githib are correct.

hosted service: github

hosturl: https://github.com (greydOut)

username: gihub login username

preferred prtocol: https

But when i click ok to go back to the hosted repositories i geta popup message syaing "github API call failed".

any ideas?

The only time I've seen that happen is if either the username/password are wrong, or the GitHub API is down. I've just tested it here and it's working so I'm guessing the former. To make sure, click the 'Set Password' button on the account detail sheet and type the password again to be sure.

Sorry to bump a really old thread, but I'm getting this same error using credentials that work when I log into github.com via the web. As far as I can tell the Github API is not down.
