getting ssh key: no key found when i try to set up an github account

I have just installed source tree and created an account. It connects with username and password, but it doesn't seem to be able to find an ssh key. there are several in my github account and the pub part of the ssh keys are also on my machine. I don't want yet another set of keys just for this GUI when I already have keys for this machine.
