Why do commits to a branch show up in the history for master?

charles_bates June 16, 2013

Hello,

Git 1.8 on Win7; latest SourceTree.

I have an original 'master' branch, and a 'work' branch. After making several commits to 'work', I browsed 'master' in SourceTree, and saw all the commits made to 'work' listed.

That seems wrong; what am I misunderstanding?

Thanks for any insight....

Maybe I'm misunderstanding, but I don't see the commits in a branch, I do see the other branches in the Graphs view/column when I have the 'All Branches' select box option on. Selecting just 'Current branch' only shows current branch commits
