When attempting to install SourceTree 3.3.8 I am presented with a login request, but the login fails

I am attempting to install SourceTree 3.3.8 on a new laptop, but the installation repeatedly fails. 

On Step #2 of the installation, I am asked to login to Bitbucket or a Bitbucket server. I choose Bitbucket server and it takes me to a login screen, but the result of my login attempt is invariably: "Failed to check login for user [MY_USERNAME]"

I have logged into my server directly, so I know that my credentials are valid.

Please tell me how to correct this issue and get the software installed. I am attempting to test this version on behalf of my company so that we can determine whether or not we wish to continue using SourceTree, or seek out an alternative.

Please advise ASAP. Thank you.
