Typed wrong password once, cannot change it after that

jury April 9, 2022

When cloning new repository I typed wrong password for remote. After that, SourceTree just stops "Checking source" with "Authentication failed" withour re-asking the password. Restart won't help. Re-install won't help. Will this repository be unavailable forever?

Tools > Options > Authentication is the first place I checked. There are no accounts there except Bitbucket (default, my guess). May be because the clone was not complete?

Hi @jury ,

welcome to the Atlassian community!

You can change your password at tool level.

For windows : the login information for each server is kept in Tools > Options > Authentication

For Mac:  Gear icon > Accounts

Otherwise you can change password at config file level using the following approach https://stackoverflow.com/questions/45821037/how-do-i-set-my-password-in-sourcetree

Hope this helps,

Fabio
