Sourcetree protocol sourcetree:// is not registered in Browser (Mozilla, IE)

SourceTree incl. .NET Framework 4.72 are installed on my Windows 10 laptop using some enterprise installation utilities. Unfortunately the clone of the repository is not working as the sourcetree custom protocol is not known to any browser on my laptop (Mozilla Firefox and IE) so the URI: sourcetree://cloneRepo?type=stash&baseWebUrl=https%3A%2F%2F[BITBCUKET_ENTERPRISE]&cloneUrl=[BITBCUKET_ENTERPRISE] is not working.
in brackets the URI was replaced. Account is registered in bitbucket.org repo is in custom bitbucket installation of the company I work for.

How I can let browser know the protocol sourcetree:// is associated with SourceTree desktop app? I did the reinstall of the source tree, this hasn't helped.
