Sourcetree for Mac 2.7.6 fails to Oauth with Bitbucket

Daniel White July 30, 2018

I'm trying to oauth into my hosted Bitbucket account. I'm able to login (including with and without MFA enabled). However the redirect is going to a listing of my repos, not to the auth return needed for Sourcetree to authenticate me. Is there something wrong in my configuration?

I managed to eventually login by doing this:

  1. Switch to Basic auth and type in my email address for the user name.
  2. Generate an SSH key.
  3. Try to Save.
  4. SourceTree will complain that you should use your username instead of an email address.
  5. Switch to OAuth and try connecting again.
  6. You should now be able to login and "Grant Access" to SourceTree.
  7. Re-generate your SSH key.

Not sure if this will work for anyone else, but that did the trick for me.

Worked for one of my accounts. Not for the other.

Just wanted to chime in I'm having this same issue - trying to add bitbucket account via oauth to OSX Sourcetree results in just logging in inside the popup rather than authenticating
