Sourcetree External Diff: Deleting temporary files

When I do an External Diff, it creates some workfiles with the strings _BACKUP_, _BASE_, _LOCAL_ and _REMOTE_ in them. These files remain even after the diff is done. I'd like them to be deleted after the external diff.

Can Sourcetree do that, or do I have to write my own script?

Sourcetree version is 2.6.3 (134)

Beyond Compare Version 4.2.2 (build 22384)

MacOS 10.11.6

Sourcetree doesn't actually generate the temp files (here's an example of how it can go rogue) we just specify the diff command to be run and the argument format. It should be written to a temporary directory in /var or the like and cleaned up when the system next purges it. If it's that sensitive I'd recommend a script which you could then invoke as a custom action within Sourcetree.

Hi Brian, thanks for your reply, and the stackoverflow link. That should be enough to get me moving in the right direction.
