Just downloaded the version 2.4.1 and It fails every time to authenticate to the github server. All the info is correct, I'm using two-factor-authentication and both SSH and HTTPS protocol fail. Is it a bug?
Steps taken:
Top bar>SourceTree>Preferences>Accounts>Add...
Host:GitHub
Auth type: OAuth
Login through Connect Account (Successfully)
Protocol: HTTPS
OK.
For the first try I get "The request timed out."
For subsequent tries I get "Could not authorize request with the available token. Please re-authenticate."
And you're generating the Github token as described in https://confluence.atlassian.com/sourcetreekb/two-factor-authentication-2fa-with-github-in-sourcetree-402033499.html ?
I'm sorry but your work around just does not work. The token has received all permissions. In Visual Studio, the token also works.

Basic authentification is the simple solution...

Did u try with basic instead of OAuth and did you find a pop up window asking for authentication?

Damn, I couldn't find that anywhere, it worked. The documentation is misleading though. It says "For versions earlier than SourceTree 2.4 for Mac and SourceTree 1.10 for Windows." but my version is 2.4.1 and I needed this workaround. Make it an answer please

Could you extend your answer to show exactly the steps you follow, maybe with screenshots?
