SourceTree for macOS Repository Browser fails to refresh local status

Running SourceTree 4.2.0 (246) on macOS Monterey 12.6. Some time in the past month or two, the repository browsing window stopped refreshing the local file status, which is normally shown in the "File Status" panel of the workspace. The steps I go through look something like the following:

  1. Open SourceTree
  2. Open repository browser for a Git repo
  3. Make changes to my local project
  4. Cmd+Tab to SourceTree
  5. Switch to the File Status view
  6. See the modified file(s)
  7. Stage and commit the changes
  8. Push changes to upstream
  9. Make more changes to my local project
  10. Cmd+Tab to SourceTree
  11. SourceTree does not display any modified files

I have found a few ways to force SourceTree to see the modified files:

  • Run Repository | Refresh
  • Close and reopen the repository browser

Switching views to History or Search doesn't seem to help.

Strangely enough, this appears to be a regression to an issue from 5 years ago (see http://community.atlassian.com/t5/Sourcetree-discussions/SourceTree-for-Mac-s-repo-browser-fails-to-refresh-local-status/m-p/649564). Any ideas?
