SourceTree authorization for remote Destination Path?

kps1ny January 27, 2013

Hello,

On a Mac, we can use the "Connect to Server" dialog to mount a remote host as a local drive, so that it can be selected as the Destination Path in SourceTree when cloning a repo.

SourceTree accepts the locally mounted drive initially, but when trying to move the files it displays "http authorization required" and then stops.

How can we send along a username / password in SourceTree to allow the cloning to happen on the remote server?

Hi Ken,

As with your other question, we don't really support a repo which is on a remote drive. We wouldn't expect an HTTP message over NFS/SMB - but this kind of set up is generally problematic. Whilst it does work, using NFS/SMB for this is unreliable. It would be better to try an alternative solution.

Cheers
