SourceTree Installer on CrossOver Linux

tgraupmann November 26, 2013

The installer used is something funky. In the past I've successfully used InnoSetup. CrossOver from CodeWeavers lets you run Windows apps on Linux. But I can't get the install to successfully complete. With a different installer I could launch SourceTreeApp on Ubuntu.

Thoughts?

Thanks!

Hello Timothy,

I've done some tests on WINE (CrossOver Is based on WINE) based your problem and I found one wine page dedicated to Sourcetree:

http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=application&iId=15064

There are two test but no one was successful. I did my own tests based on wine documentation following theses procedures:

- Install the wine

- Configure wine to run only in 32-bits

- Install the .NET 4.0

- Upgrade the version to .NET 4.5

- Install some linux libs

Unfortunately the support to .NET 4.5 in wine is not working properly yet. On the test I received this message:

This component is fundamental in order to make Source Tree work and this is why is not working on wine.

However I discovered one Answer that there is a request to port the SourceTree to linux:

Hope I helped.

If any doubt remains, please let me know!

Best Regards,

Henrique Lechner
